The project

In the old people’s and nursing home "Tusculum" in Broscheid/Germany near Siegburg a gigantic picture to the ceiling was painted. Not only the dimensions, but also the very special architecture require a maximum of imagination and ideas as well as realisation skills. This ceiling fresco is not a mural painting with usual dimensions. Having a size of approximately two hundred square meters it will respresent a challenge for every painter, no matter of which “couleur”. Which is the right procedure for such a project? First drafts and sketches showed that it is probably the best way to define a rough structure, however to approach step by step to the dimensions. Here you can see our draft, which was the basis for the further work.

The client wanted to have a mural painting and/or a ceiling fresco painting in the style of the Rococo. Thus we referred to the master of the Rococo, Tiepolo. His works were very helpful to us regarding the choice of materials, motives and colours.
