Creative action of the streetpainters
On the greens in front of the stadium in Cologne the “Festival of Talents 2006 - the FIFA world-cup in school” will take place.
All schools in Germany can enrol for visiting the festival as a class excursion or as a rambling day at the Ministry of Culture, Education and Church Affairs – whereby it concerns the football world-cup 2006 in Germany. An important topic will be the “imagination and creativity for and with schools". The participation of streetpainters is planned; three streetpainters will be in action during three days.
The following actions are planned:
Wednesday, 16th June 2004
United creation of a large streetpainting with the football motive "the miracle of Berne" on a chip board, which should be mostly finished until the inauguration party with the German Minister Otto Schily at 14.30 o’clock. The painting will be completed in the course of the day.The general intention is not to finish the painting until the inauguration, thus showing that the creativity of painting is more important than a complete picture.
Thursday, 17th June 2004
Demonstrating the streetpainting "the miracle of Berne" during the presentation of "Making of ... the miracle of Bern" by the producer Sönke Wortman.
All-day long: streetpainting workshops for pupils - number of participants and order of events are still to be specified. In addition: 722 days left until the beginning of the football world-cup 2006: pupils paint 722 multicoloured balls for the world-cup – the pupils can create their own ball with the support and assistance of streetpainters. Coloured as the world is. The balls shall be painted across the festival’s site thus connecting the most different action-surfaces. It is more the question of creativity than simple painting. Everything is possible, motives, colours, statements, greetings, desires, hopes, and if possible, with the signature by the respective classes or groups, e.g. “made by the class 6 C of the Gesamtschule Koeln-Kalk”.

All-day streetpainting workshop: pupils paint multicoloured balls for the world-cup 2006. There will be streetpainting as an alternative or supplement.
